This pattern is a throwback to my high school track and field days when Nike was my favourite sports brand and the epitome of cool! The finished 12” block would look great on a tote bag for the athlete in your life or a snazzy addition to a sports-themed quilt.

The pattern is scrap-friendly with a colouring page to choose your fabric and attach your swatches. Match your fabric selection to your sports team’s colours or to create a funky retro vibe! There are 2 labelled reference diagrams to aid with piecing (showing the finished block and the reverse) - they both show the same information so use whichever version you prefer.

Difficulty level: This pattern can be completed by an adventurous FPP beginner. There are a lot of small pieces that build on itself, but it is doable with a can-do attitude and methodical approach! This pattern has no Y-seams and requires only straight-line sewing (like all my patterns).

Included in this pattern:

  • Coloured pattern templates with ¼” seam allowance for 12” finished block.
  • Assembly instructions with coloured reference diagrams.
  • Colouring page to customise your fabric selection and attach your swatches.

This pattern assumes prior basic knowledge of foundation paper piecing and does not include FPP instructions. There are many tutorials online and YouTube videos that teach the FPP process and I am happy to recommend resources if needed.
